The Christ Hospital-Liberty Medical Center Grand Opening
The Christ Hospital Medical Center – Liberty Township recently celebrated its grand opening on Saturday, January 6, 2018. The project is The Christ Hospital Health Network’s first in-patient medical center outside their main campus in Mt. Auburn. GBBN led the design of the exterior and partnered with HKS who oversaw interior design. The 120,000 sf Medical Center features a state-of-the-art birthing center, emergency department, surgery suites and in-patient rooms. Throughout the facility there are terraced gardens, courtyards and walking paths to provide areas of respite and activity for waiting families. Patient journeys and wayfinding into the facility are welcoming, clear, and distinct and the site was planned for ease of expansion in four directions without altering visitor arrival experience. The Christ Hospital Health Network’s recognized and trusted brand was creatively worked into the entry’s glass façade, which glows with light at night.
Despite temperatures in the single digits, the event drew large crowds. Hot chocolate, local high school choirs, speeches from TCH CEO Michael Keating and community leaders, and a teddy bear clinic with Disney’s Doc McStuffins all helped make the event a huge success.
