Once a bustling theater district in Louisville, Kentucky, 4th Street has been returning to its roots as pedestrian friendly entertainment zone spanning multiple blocks. As this revitalization takes hold, the Edge on 4 draws new residents to this downtown neighborhood.

The Edge on 4 aims to draw an element critical to the neighborhood’s success: residents.

Thanks to a prefabricated wall panel and truss system, apartments at the Edge on 4 came to market faster than if traditional stud framing had been used. One benefit is better sound separation between units, which means a better living experience for residents. Offering over 200 new apartments, the Edge on 4 is one of the largest multi-family options in the city. The building’s interior courtyard evokes the kind of laid-back lifestyle found in southern cities like Louisville.

The bridge offers glimpses into the courtyard oasis to residents and passersby.

Whether socializing around the pool or lounging in a hammock, residents enjoy different courtyard zones. Thanks to how we split the structure, pedestrians also enjoy strategic and enticing glimpse of green. It’s a unique amenity in an urban district where garden space is in short supply.
