Hamerschlag Hall wins Building Excellence Award

The Master Builders’ Association (MBA) of Western Pennsylvania has honored Carnegie Mellon University’s Hamerschlag Hall Tech Spark renovation with an excellence award. The MBA Excellence Awards are presented every year and recognize outstanding construction achievement in the region.

Hamerschlag Hall’s Tech Spark engineering lab is part Carnegie Mellon University’s maker ecosystem. CMU is at the leading edge of preparing students to harness technology to do what can’t be done with the human hand alone. At Tech Spark students and researchers have access to sophisticated equipment—such as 3D printers that use titanium powder—to rapidly prototype designs.
